Stages of Quality Control

Word Perfect Translations employs a multi-stage quality control system to ensure high quality services. The system is used to evaluate each translation completed by our specialists. Measures are taken at every stage of the translation process to ensure that our clients’ requirements are met, and that the work is of the highest quality.

Step one - Glossary confirmation. It is of great importance for any translation that the terminology used corresponds exactly from one language to the other; it is especially significant when translating texts of a technical nature. During this step our specialists prepare a glossary of terms and their accepted equivalents in the destination language. If the client’s organisation already has a glossary of terms, it is issued to us to ensure that the translation conforms to these specific terms.. Throughout the translation process the translator uses an approved dictionary: every term which occurs in the text should be translated precisely as indicated by the glossary. After the translation is completed, another qualified translator will check the text’s compliance with the glossary. In this way we ensure that every word is accurately translated.

A translation performed by a native speaker.  This is one of the main advantages of using our services. Only native speakers with sufficient qualifications for a given subject area translate the texts. Needless to say the completion of your work by a native speaker provides the highest quality of translation.

Proofreading  - This is a multistage reading of a text paying close attention to logical, grammatical, orthographical and punctuation errors. Step one: proofreading of the text by a qualified expert in the subject area. He or she highlights any professional errors in the text, logical discrepancies and anything else that lies in his sphere of expertise. An editor and proof-reader will then work on the text. Their responsibility is to ensure that the text is grammatically correct, and if necessary, the proof-reader will check the quality of the text format.

Final Check by a Word Perfect Translations Project Manager. This is the final stage in checking the quality of your order. When formulating your order will have outlined certain deadline, quality and formatting criteria with which the final product must comply. The project manager dealing with your order personally checks the translation against all these criteria. If any discrepancies are discovered, your order will be sent for revision. This does not mean that the deadline for your order will not be met. The quality control system is an efficient mechanism that observes deadlines yet achieves the highest quality of translation, of which Word Perfect Translations is so proud.
