Q: How can I find out how much a translation will cost?
A: An estimate of the cost of the service will be sent by the company’s project manager to you by e-mail (office@wp-translations.ru) or will be printed in our Moscow office at the following address: 36 Prospekt Mira. The most popular type of translation is from English into Russian and Russian into English. The average price for our services is 450 roubles per page, however, there are many individual factors that determine the cost. All the same, the initial price quoted by our project manager will not change once the translation is under way.
Q: How long will it take to finish a translation?
A: The completion time of a translation varies widely, depending on the difficulty, volume, source language and language that the text will be translated into. When you speak with our project manager in our office or by e-mail, you’ll receive an exact cost for the translation within half an hour. For example, a journalistic text of average difficulty, with 40,000 characters, translated from Russian into English, will be done in 48 hours.

A: All translations completed by Word Perfect Translations’ specialists are proofread, edited and given a final quality-control check. In order to provide top-notch work, both translators and sector professionals are used in the translation process. The cost of all services is already included in the translation price.
Q: I would like you to use some words and phrases that I’ve translated.
A: This is a typical request known as ‘glossary agreement’. A client can provide lists of his/her own words and phrases. These lists, known as ‘glossaries’ in professional terminology, will be used by all translators working on the project. There will be a thorough quality-control check to see that the lists are adhered to, and this will be confirmed with the client.
Q: What’s the difference between having a translation legalized, apostilled, notarized?
A:Notarizing a translation is the process of legalizing the translation of the original in the Russian Federation. Having a document apostilled means legalizing a document in the country of origin, if the country is a signatory to the Hague Convention. Consular legalization is having a document legalized in the country of origin, if the country is not a signatory to the Hague Convention. We provide all three types of service. If you are going to travel abroad and you would like some document to retain its legal validity in another country, you will have to have it apostilled or legalized. If you would like a document that has been translated into another language to retain the legal validity of the original in the Russian Federation, you will have to have the translation notarized. The price and timeframe will vary, depending on the size of the document. The most popular service is having translations of passports in Russian and English notarized. Typically, this service costs from 300-400 roubles for the translation of the passport, depending on the original language, and 700 roubles for each notarized copy of the translation. Our project manager will provide individual prices for more complicated documents.
Q: Can a translation I’ve done myself be notarized?
A:Clients that are fluent in several languages come to us specifically about this on a regular basis. What happens most often is that a person completes his/her own translation of a passport. All that’s left is to have the translation notarized. Can we help? Well, a self-translated text is not legal. A translation for notarizing must be completed only by a translator accredited to do so for a public notary. Therefore, we will have to translate your document again at the set prices.
Q: I would like to translate a series of articles, features or even an entire book. Do you offer a discount?
A: Perhaps. We complete such orders on a regular basis, and offering discounts is a typical practice. Each situation is handled on an individual basis with a client.
Q: What’s the working relationship between Word Perfect Translations and corporate clients like?
A:Each corporate client is given a personal account handled by one of our project managers. Projects are completed in close contact with the client. Timeframes and quality control are strictly adhered to. Collaboration with a client is organized so that quality control of the finished product is applied well in advance of the date that the project is delivered. If anything out of the ordinary is found by the client, the translation is immediately sent for reworking. Therefore, a job is always delivered in proper order and within the set timeframe.
